A new study by Twilio revealed that 90% of CTOs and senior IT decision-makers in UK companies consider software developers as one of the most important roles in their industries during the pandemic.
Indeed, with the sanitary crisis, software developers became even more essential as they helped facilitate business-as-usual operations online and future-proof businesses by solving customers’ problems with software.
However, the study also highlighted that there is still a persistent misconception that persists about only seeing developers as technical workers. The report then explores how this misconception is holding back companies from unveiling the true value of developers and shows that developers can solve major business problems and create valuable solutions for customers.
Hence, it was emphasized that developers should be customer-facing and be involved in the problem-solving stage, as organizations could use their expertise to find quicker solutions to the most urgent issues.
