French carmarker pairs-up with tech firm

French carmaker Peugeot and tech company nuTonomy, pair-up to test self-driving cars in Singapore.

According to nuTonomy and group PSA, the car manufacturer, Peugeot 3008 models will be installed with nuTonomy’s software, computer platforms and sensors, to help expand the technology needed for large amounts of autonomous vehicles.

The most recent PSA group level 5 project will require no driver input whatsoever, and will combine the latest technology.

Autonomous vehicle testing in urban areas

“Autonomous driving in urban areas requires a more radical approach to vehicle design, particularly for software and sensors, to help a car navigate inner city obstacles,” said Anne Laliron, Head of the Business Lab at PSA Group.

“That is the reason we jump on the opportunity to work with nuTonomy. PSA Group will use the project to learn about what components make sense, and which suppliers are available.”
