Facebook has recently published a 28-page report on the growing importance of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) and how they can be used for consumer interest and future applications.
Indeed, Facebook pointed out the inevitable evolution of AR and VR in the near future as they will become more and more valuable for everyday life. It noted that 75% of all business owners are expected to be using AR and VR technology in the next two years, while global spending on AR and VR should rise 6 times.
Moreover, Facebook highlighted that user adoption of AR content was increasing as more people were shopping online. The popularity of AR and VR technology can be explained as they offer immersive solutions to close the gap between the online and in-store shopping experience. Thus, consumers are using it to boost their product discovery and brand connection process.
Facebook’s data also revealed that English-language searches related to AR and VR on Facebook were rising significantly in emerging markets.
Therefore, the report showed that the interest in AR and VR is growing in every market, emphasizing the rising popularity of immersive tech platforms in the near future.
